Jenny and Joe
Jenny is an Event Planner and needs to transform effortlessly from set-up to show time. She’s on the petite side, but needs to stand out and stand tall to show everyone she’s in control.
Although a monochromatic look helps to elongate the body, this lighter tone isn’t making enough of a statement to boost her visibility and credibility. Petite figures should avoid long, heavy cable-knit sweaters which can overpower their small frames.
Joe is a Financial Planner who needs to show his clients he’s professional and knowledgeable, yet approachable and compassionate.
Although he’s meeting his clients in their homes, his look can’t be too comfortable. He’s not there to socialize, so this look is a little too casual. Joe is also of smaller stature, so he also needs to elongate his frame. The longer, darker shirt is cutting off the leg line, especially against the lighter tone of his pants.

The monochromatic look refreshed!
This deep chocolate brown compliments both Jenny’s and Joe’s hair and eye colour beautifully. The strong tone boosts their presence and still creates an elongated line. For Jenny, a little bit of bling adds some glamour for an evening event. For Joe, a complimentary tie still conveys his professionalism, but the lighter, colourful tone, shows his warmth and positive attitude.
Matt and Becky
Matt and Becky are husband and wife chiropractors. They have a family-focused business and Becky specializes in pediatric care.
Like most women, Becky found comfort and safety in basic black. However on her 5’10″ figure, black can be a little intimidating, especially since most of her patients are 1/4 – 1/2 her size.
Men with stronger, fuller frames like Matt need to be careful of wearing lighter colours all over – it can add unwanted weight where it’s not wanted.
To connect more effectively with the kids, I suggested Becky choose softer, calmer pastel colours such as pink, blue and green to project warmth and approachability. For Matt, he can streamline and lengthen his body by using vertical lines and balancing light and dark. In an instant he’s 10-15 lbs lighter.
Alinah
Alinah serves with the Canadian Armed Forces. Since she’s always in uniform, her civilian wardrobe was fighting a losing battle. She’s not a girly girl, but wanted a casual look that brought out her softer side.
The dusty rose jacket works beautifully against the ivory blouse and trousers to add a feminine touch. Her makeup is kept soft and natural and a few large rollers add some bounce to her lovely locks.
