1. How do I register for the Fairview Personal Shopping Experience?
You can register by clicking on Contact Us and sending us an email. We’ll respond within 2 business days to conduct your initial assessment and to schedule your appointment. Your payment can be made easily by clicking on the PayPal ‘Buy Now’ button. We ask that payment be made a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment.
On the day of your appointment, meet me at Fairview’s Guest Services Desk. I’ll conduct a brief consultation to review your goals for the session. We’ll shop at specific stores that best reflect your style. You’ll learn how to navigate each store and stay focused on your goals. You will try on appropriate outfits and learn how to integrate them into one cohesive wardrobe.
2. Is there anything I should do to prepare for this appointment?
Before your appointment, it’s a good idea to review your existing wardrobe. Simplify, by focusing on the current season. Remove any pieces that no longer fit, are worn out or haven’t been worn in over a year. Organize the remaining items by category – suits, blouses, pants, etc. Assess the gaps – what’s missing? What can be added to update? If you’d like, prepare and bring along some photos or magazine cut-outs of your preferred styles. If you have a specific item of clothing you’d like to build around, bring that as well.
3. Am I obliged to buy something?
No. Our goal is to give you an enjoyable and educational personal shopping experience. We want to show you how to save time, energy and money while creating a wardrobe that makes you look fabulous and feel phenomenal!
As an independent consultant, I’m not on commission nor am I affiliated with a particular store.
4. Can I book an appointment for someone else?
The decision to participate in the Fairview Personal Shopping Experience is just that…very personal! From experience, most clients who take advantage of this service are ready and open to new ideas and guidance from an expert.
With that said, although we will not turn away clients who book for others, we do highly suggest that you confirm with the candidate that they would be receptive to the service.
5. May I bring a friend with me to my consultation?
Due to the limited amount of time and to ensure you receive the maximum benefit from your session we suggest you come to the appointment alone.
6. Can I bring clothes with me that I want to match up with other things?
Yes, please do! However, we would suggest limiting the amount you bring to a couple of key pieces, due to our time limitations and to ensure the ease and comfort of travelling light.
7. Will you do my colours?
Although I am trained in Colour Analysis, this is not part of our service. Rather than defining you by a Season, you’ll be advised on your best basic colours to build a well-coordinated wardrobe.
8. Will I learn about current fashions?
Yes, but remember, not all fashions are for all people. We will show you how to build your most flattering wardrobe based on your figure, colour palette, lifestyle and budget. You’ll be educated on what’s hot for the season and show you how to make it work for you.
9. Can I book a double appointment?
Yes, you can book a double appointment. Please note that the price will increase to $300 including tax to compensate for the additional time.
10. Do you have appointments for men?
Yes! We always encourage our male customers to look their best as well!
11. What should I wear to the appointment?
Wear the appropriate undergarments for what you will be trying on. Dress comfortably and travel light because you will be doing a lot of walking throughout the centre.
12. Will you tell me what to do with my hair and makeup?
I’ll give general advice on hair and makeup, however if more in-depth expertise is required, I can make suggestions as to where to find the answers to all your questions.
13. Will you help me find shoes and accessories?
Yes, if time permits.
14. Can I book a second appointment?
Yes! Simply complete the registration and payment process when you’re ready to visit us again.
15. If I am not satisfied with my purchases can I return them?
Since I’m not affiliated with a particular store, all purchases made during the Fairview Personal Shopping Service are subject to the exchange and refund policies of each individual store and must be returned directly to the store.
16. What are your qualifications as Fairview’s Style Consultant?
I have over 15 years of experience in the fashion & beauty industry and for the past 5 years have built my own Image Consulting company, The Image Factor. I know how to make you look fabulous and feel phenomenal! I have coached people from all walks of life on how to fulfill their style potential to achieve greater success both personally and professionally. I have appeared on Rogers Television, CBC Television, CityTV and Slice. I have contributed articles to various local, online and national publications. I volunteer my expertise to the Look Good, Feel Better Program which helps women manage the appearance-related effects of cancer and its treatments, and to COSTI Employment Centres which helps new immigrants prepare for employment opportunities.
